Montserrat as seen from Space after the recent eruption

This NASA image of Montserrat after the eruption of July 12 was taken from the Aqua satellite on July 14, 2003.
An ash/water plume is seen drifting to the west from the volcano. The green color of the ocean in the vicinity of the island is due to water contaminated with volcanic ash.

Montserrat is in the center; St. Kitts and Nevis are in the upper left. The islands on the right are (from top to bottom): Barbuda, Antigua, Guadeloupe, and Marie Galante
